No more trips to Greece

Hi,

I live in Syracuse, New York & I have a very strong interest in the animal suffering in Greece. I have many relatives in Greece, but I was born in the U.S. & I have been there many times. Fourteen years ago I brought a cat home from the island of Lesvos & 3 years ago I brought home a stray 7 month old dog. What I had to go thru for the dog was unbelievable. The dog was near my cousins summer home near Sounion & she was on the beach wanting attention & people were throwing stones at her to makle her go away. I was leaving for the U.S. in 2 days & when I went back to get her she wasn't there & none of my relatives would help me find her. I knew someone from England who was married to a Greek & lived in Greece from Athens that would help me. When I returned home I express mailed her photos & she made up fliers & drove the hour away & went looking for her.&nb sp; It was a miracle that she found the dog because my cousin told her the wrong place to go & someone told her where the place was from the photos. She found a woman who was on her way to have the dog put to sleep because she didn't want her to starve to death. Anyway, I had her flown to Atlanta, Georgia to stay in a kennel overnight & the next day flown to Syracuse.

I no longer want to visit Greece because I can't look at all these animals. I do a lot of rescue here with friends of mine, but Greece is a whole other story. If I can help in any way please e-mail me back. I would love my 2 little girls to know how beautiful Greece is, but the people there are terribly backwards. The mentality of my relatives & all the people on the way they treat animals can't be put into words. I just came across your website & what you are doing is so great. I hope you make progress.
