Securities finance people are moving

The International Securities Lending Association (ISLA) announced that Fredrik Carstens has joined the organization as a public affairs advisor.

Based in Munich, Carstens will engage with industry stakeholders supporting ISLA’s work in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region, to further develop relationships with market regulators and policy makers and to advocate for the role of securities lending in financial markets.

Carstens will work closely with member companies and industry organizations to support their needs and requirements in the development of the industry.

He brings to this role over 30 years of experience in the financial markets, occupying both trading and sales positions in the securities lending industry.

Carstens spent eight years at Deutsche Bank, most recently as Global Head of Sales and Customer Relations in London.

Previously, Carstens was Managing Director of Dresdner Bank during his 14-year career with the company, after spending a decade with JP Morgan Chase where he held several management positions.

Adrian Dale, Head of Regulatory, Digital and Market Practices at ISLA, said: “With 2022 already showing signs of being a busy year, I welcome Fredrik to ISLA. His considerable knowledge of securities lending will be of great benefit to the Association and our members.

Andrew Dyson, CEO of ISLA, adds: “I am delighted to welcome Fredrik to the team. He brings with him a wealth of experience in our markets which will prove invaluable as we grow our business across Europe. ”
